NextDNS is a personalized DNS nameserver, that can be used to increase the security of your network by blocking malicious domains, block ads and trackers, and limit the browsing experience for your kids. It’s basically a 
Adguard Home or 
Pi-Hole in the cloud.
Tailscale can uses NextDNS through MagicDNS with DNS over HTTPS (DoH).
Setup with Tailscale
Section titled “Setup with Tailscale”- Create an account and profile on https://my.nextdns.io/
- Copy your ID from the dashboard
- Go on Tailscale admin panel > Settings
- Under MagicDNS add a new nameservers with NextDNS
- Put your NextDNS ID
- That’s it !
DNS Rewrites
Section titled “DNS Rewrites”NextDNS offer DNS Rewrites. Go to your panel > settings > Rewrites. Here I’ve added a rewrites for all my domains pointing to my reverse proxy’s Tailscale IP.
